Tourism Safety Tips

If you are planning on traveling outside of the United States, follow these useful tips?

• Get your passport well in advance.
• Check to see if you need a visa for the traveling in/or to a specific country.
• Make sure you can access your money from the country you are visiting.
• Give yourself enough time to adjust from jet lag (when you reach your destination) if flying.
• Check the website of the U.S. State Department for any advisories and/or warnings for your destination.
• Research the culture of your destination, so you know the Do’s and Don’ts ahead of time.
• Don’t draw attention to you or your party, wear inconspicuous clothing and be discreet when looking at maps.
• Make copies of important documents and store them online for easy access if needed.
• Provide an itinerary to friends and/or family, and check in periodically to let them know where you are and that you are safe.
• Be weary of public wi-fi:  hackers are constantly looking to steal valuable data such as credit card numbers, contact lists, or other personal information.
• Most important safety tip when traveling outside of the country is: Be Aware of Your Surroundings.
• Beginning 2024, anyone from the U.S.A., Canada, Australia and New Zeland will be required to obtain a visa prior to visiting European countries.
