Tourism Safety Tips
If you are planning on traveling outside of the United States, follow these useful tips?
Get your passport well in advance.
Check to see if you need a visa for the traveling in/or to a specific country.
Make sure you can access your money from the country you are visiting.
Give yourself enough time to adjust from jet lag (when you reach your destination) if flying.
Check the website of the U.S. State Department for any advisories and/or warnings for your destination.
Research the culture of your destination, so you know the Do’s and Don’ts ahead of time.
Don’t draw attention to you or your party, wear inconspicuous clothing and be discreet when looking at maps.
Make copies of important documents and store them online for easy access if needed.
Provide an itinerary to friends and/or family, and check in periodically to let them know where you are and that you are safe.
Be weary of public wi-fi: hackers are constantly looking to steal valuable data such as credit card numbers, contact lists, or other personal information.
Most important safety tip when traveling outside of the country is: Be Aware of Your Surroundings.
Beginning 2024, anyone from the U.S.A., Canada, Australia and New Zeland will be required to obtain a visa prior to visiting European countries.
